ABOUT the ARTIST

Olivia Duval is a self-taught artist who has been selling her exquisitely
hand-sculpted creations for almost 15 years. Inspired by the forests
and dramatic coastal terrains of Sydney, Australia where she grew up,
her original works reflect her deep love of nature and the intricate beauty
of organic forms.

Propelled by an insatiatiable thirst for knowledge, Olivia voraciously
consumes anything educational. Her particular passions include
astromony, architecture, history, languages, folklore and mythology,
novel and screenplay writing and film production.

Olivia has studied ballet, jazz, flamenco and kung fu and trained as a Contralto opera singer. She plays the piano, hegum (a Korean traditional violin), recorder and the Irish tin whistle and loves composing music. She directed her first stage production at age 20 and has performed in numerous stage shows and worked on over 20 films. Through her love of throwing extravagant theme parties she began running public events, working as Creative Director and Producer of Labyrinth Masquerade 2007 and 2008 in Melbourne.

Her pillars of inspiration include Jim Henson, Carl Sagan, Joss Whedon, Michael Crichton and Brian Froud.

Olivia currently resides in Melbourne, Australia.
