Mordigliana

MORDIGLIANA

The impressive Mordigliana represents the strength and fecundity of Woman as a vessel of Wisdom and New Life. Gesturing to the cosmos in gratitude and observance of the power that she - and each one of us - hold our hands, she celebrates our place in the world that nourishes and the universe that holds us. A wry smile plays on her lips acknowledging the secrets of the Ancients, kept hidden for so long yet so simple and beautiful and easily understood by any who would listen.

She is gracefully dressed in Graecian robes of a gentle lichen green satin, crossed tied with ribbon at her hips. Her Druidic cloak and hood are made of Indian velvet, swirling in deep forest greens and imperial purples. A string of silver and purple meditation beads is worn as a hanging belt.

Her Celtic red hair is decorated with braids and beads and an ornament adorns her forehead. She wears a triple string of silver beads as a necklace, representing the Triad of the Three Fates. The palms of her hands are painted with delicate patterns in the style of traditional Indian henna tattoos.

The Book of Spells she holds, bound in purple velvet, is open on a page depicting the Tree of Life.

Wood Wytch

WOOD WYTCH

The Wood Wytch is an Elemental - a spirit of branches and trees. Tonight she is attending a magnificent gala at which all Elements will be represented, taking their human forms (or their best approximations) to walk the earth and discuss important matters with each other.

As a regal ambassador of the ancient forests the Wood Wytch is dressed in a splendid gown of two-toned imperial purple. This tailored number flatters her curves then splays from her feet like the roots of the great tree that, at heart, she is. Her tasteful accessories include a double bracelet, a hanging cluster adorning her side-swept fascinator, and a feathered brooch from which hang impressive strands of hand-made beads. Peach coloured paperbark lace compliments her tree-ish skin. Her gnarled staff features many flecks of twig and bark embedded in its twists and coils.

The Wood Wytch prides herself on her hair, as a tree prides itself on its many branches. Her hair is a collection of twigs and a variety of tiny gumnuts native to Victoria, Australia. Two splendid feathers complete the look for this lady of fashion.

Rapunzel

RAPUNZEL

An original interpretation of the famous fairy tale.

This golden-haired beauty stands resplendant in a layered velveteen gown of deep dusk rose and burgundy hues, hemmed in broad Turkish brocade. She wears a delicate golden circlet on her head and a sparkling pink pendant on a golden chain.

In the old tale Rapunzel was kept a prisoner her whole life until a man noticed her beauty, but this Rapunzel is not the complacent captive or a passive princess in the tower. She braids her own her with focus and intent, knowing it is both an asset and a weapon which she can use to effect her own escape and take charge of her own destiny.

This Rapunzel is about self-respect and recognising and using the power within.
